The story begins in the Undercity.
Welcome to Nova Fortuna: a colossal, topless flying-saucer city hovering high above the overgrown ruins of an ancient Mayan world.
For Jax, life in the neon-drenched depths of the Undercity is a relentless daily war. Surviving on the edge of poverty, she numbs her trauma with a dangerous, synthetic drug called "Luci". Desperate for a way out of the filth and the debt, she takes on a high-stakes corporate heist that looks like a guaranteed death sentence.
Instead of a paycheck, Jax walks straight into a warzone. Caught between the untouchable, ultra-rich elite known as the Pantheon and a charismatic rebel movement called "The Way of the Moth"—a cult pied-pipering the citizens with glowing neon projections—she becomes the unwitting key to a revolution.
To survive, Jax will have to face the ghosts of her past, outrun a corrupt corporate empire, and decide if she is a pawn in a holy war, or the spark that burns it all down.
